Order process

How do I place an order?
It all begins with a calendar design so tell us about your calendar project by completing our free calendar design request form

How do I send you my files?
Upload your files at www.createcalendars.wetransfer.com

I have already designed my calendar can I send a print ready file?
You can send a print ready high resolution PDF with embedded fonts, 3mm bleed and crop marks to www.createcalendars.wetransfer.com

Can I add my own memorable dates?
Yes you can. We include as standard UK bank and public holidays but should you wish to include other religious or memorable dates please discuss this when we create your initial page design. Depending on the extent of the information you wish to include in the calendar there may be an additional charge for design time but we will discuss this with you before proceeding/a charge is incurred.

Can I choose the colours and fonts used in my calendar design?
Yes you can. When completing the  free calendar design request form you can specify your preferred colour scheme and fonts. Some fonts/colours may not be available but we will match as close as possible to your prefferred choice. Our prices are based on standard full colour process printing using Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK) inks. For spot colour printing using Pantone Matching System (PMS) colours please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Will I receive a proof of my calendar?
Within 1 to 2 working days we will email you a sample page of your calendar design for review. Once approved we will send you the whole calendar by email in the first instance and then once that is approved we will send a printed proof by post.

Will I be charged for corrections / amendments and new proofs?
We will email you a sample page of your calendar design for review before creating the whole calendar. There are often tweaks that need to be made to the design so we allow for three further proofs to get the design just right. Once the design is agreed we will create the rest of the calendar and send that to you by email for review. Once again there are often a few changes to be made so we allow for a further three full calendar PDFs and thereafter we reserve the right to charge for the additional design time (please discuss your exact requirements with us and we will confirm pricing before proceeding). Once the full PDF calendar is approved we will send you a printed proof for final approval before production of the full quantity starts. Should you wish to make changes to the calendar at this stage an additional charge of £25-50 will be incurred depending on your exact requirements.

Image sizes &
resolution

What file formats do you accept?
All file formats accepted. JPEG and TIFF files are preferred for images and EPS files are preferred for logos.

What size/resolution should my images be?
In the printing industry we usually recommend that images should be 300 dots per inch (dpi) at the final printed size. As calendars are intended to be viewed from a distance a lower resolution/dpi could be considered acceptable even if on close inspection it looks blurry. Don’t forget that we send all our customers a free printed proof to ensure they are happy with the quality of all images before we print the full order quantity.

How can I determine what the image resolution/dpi is of my image?
To calculate image resolution, divide pixel width and height by 300. This will give you the maximum size at which you will be able to use the image based on printing it at 300dpi. For example, an image which is 2126 x 1535 pixels will be 7 x 5 inches if printed at 300dpi (divide the pixel measurements number by 300) You may have an image that does not meet the above criteria but you still really want to use within the calendar. As calendars are intended to be viewed from a distance, a lower resolution could be considered acceptable even if on close inspection it looks blurry. Don’t forget that we send all our customers a free printed proof to ensure they are happy with the quality of all images before we print the full order quantity.

Can I supply images as hard copy?
Sorry but we do not except hard copy images. We recommend that you either scan your hard copy images or take a picture of them using the high resolution setting on your digital camera. It is simple to do. To get the best result place the item on a flat surface (floor/wall/desk) ensuring it is well lit with no shadows on or around it. With a digital camera (ideally mounted on a tripod) take a picture of the item ensuring the camera is on its highest resolution setting. Please ensure that you include a 1 inch (minimum) border of plain card/paper/surface around the item.

Can I supply my own print ready PDF?
Yes, please upload your print ready high resolution PDF with embedded fonts, 3mm bleed and crop marks to www.createcalendars.wetransfer.com
